Transmission Range Switch

Transmission Range (TR) switch (shift switch) delivers an input signal to TCM, indicating selector lever position. Switch is mounted on side of transaxle, and prevents engine starting when transaxle is in any gear other than Park or Neutral. The back-up light circuit is completed when TR switch is in Reverse. Malfunction of VSS will cause TCM to turn off TCC solenoid.
