Mode Control Switch
The mode control switch consists of 5 function buttons located in upper portion of control panel. Mode control switch controls the flow of air into the vehicle. Switch functions are indicated by standard icons on each button. See Fig 1 . Light in each button is illuminated when requested function is in operation. When vent button is pressed, air is discharged from the center and side outlets of the instrument panel. When bi-level button is pressed, warm air is discharged from the floor outlets and cooler air is discharged from center and side outlets (when temperature control lever is in maximum heating or cooling position, all outlets will discharge air at chosen temperature).
When heat button is pressed, heated air is discharged from the floor outlets only. If heat and defrost function is actuated, heated air is discharged from floor outlets and windshield and side defroster outlets. When defrost button is pressed, heated air is discharged from the windshield and side defroster outlets.
