Description & Operation

Aluminum transfer case is directly connected to back of transmission. Transfer case consists of an input gear, countershaft, output gear shaft, output low gear, and front output shaft (for front drive). Shafts are connected by a chain. A synchronizer on the front drive clutch makes it possible to change between 2WD and 4WD when the vehicle is moving. Front drive shift fork is spring loaded to assist 4H to 2H shifts. An oil gutter and a plate are used to ensure synchronizer lubrication.
