Retrieving Trouble Codes: Notes

NOTE: Before retrieving trouble codes, ensure battery is fully charged for proper self-diagnostic system operation. Trouble codes must be cleared from PCM memory once repairs have been performed. See CLEARING TROUBLE CODES .

NOTE: If a trouble code cannot be retrieved, and a transmission fault is present, perform manual shifting test to determine if fault is caused by an electrical or mechanical related problem. See MANUAL SHIFTING TEST under TRANSMISSION SHIFT TESTING.
