Section 2 (Disc & Drum): Description

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 1998 Suzuki X-90, 1998 Suzuki Swift, 1998 Suzuki Sidekick, 1998 Suzuki Esteem, and 1997 Suzuki X-90. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Hydraulically operated brake system uses a tandem master cylinder, with a vacuum-assisted power brake booster and single piston, sliding caliper front disc brakes. All models have self-adjusting rear drum brakes and cable actuated rear parking brakes. ABS is either standard or optional. Sidekick 1600 and X90 uses Load Sensing Proportioning Valve (LSPV) to control hydraulic pressure applied to rear brake according to vehicle load and will allow direct pressure to rear brake should any failure occur in the hydraulic circuit of front brakes (fail-safe function).
