Cruise Indicator Light Circuit Check
- Ensure ignition is off. Disconnect Cruise Control Electronic Control Unit (CC ECU) harness connector. Turn ignition on. If CRUISE indicator light illuminates, repair short to ground in Green wire (Esteem) or Green/Yellow wire (Grand Vitara and Vitara) between combination meter and CC ECU. If CRUISE light does not illuminate, go to next step.
- Connect a jumper wire between ground and CC ECU harness connector terminal No. 4 (Green wire on Esteem; Green/Yellow wire on Grand Vitara and Vitara). See Figure . Turn ignition on. If CRUISE indicator light illuminates, circuit is okay. If CRUISE indicator light does not illuminate, go to next step.
- Check CRUISE indicator light bulb. Replace as necessary. If cruise indicator light bulb is okay, check for open Black/White wire between combination meter and fuse box. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If Black/White wire is okay, repair open in Green wire (Esteem) or Green/Yellow wire (Grand Vitara and Vitara) between combination meter and CC ECU.
