Clutch Pedal Position Switch

  1. Loosen lock nut on clutch pedal position switch, located near top of clutch pedal. See Figure . Slightly unscrew clutch pedal position switch from mounting bracket. Ensure clutch pedal is released.
  2. On Grand Vitara and Vitara, adjust clutch pedal position switch to obtain .06-.08" (1.5-2.0 mm) clearance between threaded end of clutch pedal position switch and clutch pedal bracket. Tighten lock nut to 66 INCH lbs. (7.5 N.m).
  3. On Esteem, adjust clutch pedal position switch to obtain .02-.04" (.5-1.0 mm) clearance between threaded end of clutch pedal position switch and clutch pedal bracket. Tighten lock nut to 115 INCH lbs. (13 N.m).
