Disabling System (B Series Pickups)

  1. Obtain radio anti-theft protection code from vehicle owner prior to servicing vehicle or deactivate radio anti-theft function before disconnecting vehicle battery.
  2. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect and shield negative battery cable. Wait at least ONE MINUTE for back-up power supply to be depleted.
  3. Remove round plastic plugs on left and right side of steering wheel housing. Remove 2 screws and lift off driver's air bag module. Unplug driver's air bag module connector.
  4. Remove glove box. Unplug passenger's air bag module connector at rear of glove box opening.
NOTE: If performing diagnostics on air bag system, install driver Air Bag Simulator (49-UN01-131) to vehicle harness at top of steering column. Install Passenger Air Bag Simulator (49-UN01-150) to vehicle harness at passenger-side air bag assembly.
