DTC Confirmation Test

  1. Ensure intake air temperature is 6.8-158°F (-14-70°C), vehicle is at an altitude of 9150 feet or below, and barometric pressure is 74 kPa or more. Turn ignition off, connect scan tool and turn ignition on. Clear DTCs. See MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LIGHT (MIL) RESET PROCEDURE under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM in SELF-DIAGNOSTICS - INTRODUCTION article.
  2. Start engine and allow it to reach normal operating temperature. Drive vehicle at speeds of 35 MPH with throttle steady for 30 seconds. Stop vehicle and allow engine to idle for 10 seconds.
