DTC P1530: Ignition Timing Adjustment Switch Circuit Malfunction

NOTE: Ignition timing is not adjustable on Esteem or Swift.
  1. Ensure test switch terminal of test connector (located in underhood relay/fuse block) is not grounded. See Fig 1 . If test switch terminal is grounded, remove jumper wire and retest system. If test switch terminal is not grounded, go to next step.

  2. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between test connector terminals No. 4 (ground) and No. 5 (test switch terminal). If reading is 10-14 volts, problem is intermittent or due to a faulty PCM. Go to INTERMITTENTS in TROUBLE SHOOTING - NO CODES article. If reading is not 10-14 volts, check Purple/White wire (Esteem) or Purple/Green wire (Swift) for short to ground. If wire is okay, replace PCM.
