Diagnostic Procedure

  1. If SIR Diagnostic System Check has been performed, go to next step. If SIR Diagnostic System Check has not been performed, go to SIR DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  .
  2. If DTCs 19 or 25 are present, perform diagnostic procedure for appropriate DTC.
  3. Turn ignition off. If air bags have not deployed, go to next step. If air bags have deployed, replace appropriate components. See POST-COLLISION INSPECTION  .
  4. Inspect front of vehicle and undercarriage for signs of impact or damage. If signs of damage are present, replace appropriate components. See POST-COLLISION INSPECTION  . If no signs of damage are present, replace SDM. See SENSING & DIAGNOSTIC MODULE (SDM) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION  . Go to next step.
  5. Reconnect all SIR system components. Using scan tool, clear all SIR DTCs. Go to SIR DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  .
