Diagnosis & Repair Procedure

  1. Remove PCM cover, located below right side of instrument panel. Connect DVOM between ground and PCM 35-pin connector "A" terminal No. 35 (White wire). Start engine and observe voltage reading. If 10-14 volts does not exist, go to next step. If 10-14 volts exists, check for an intermittent problem. See TROUBLE SHOOTING - NO CODES article. If all checks are okay, replace PCM. See REMOVAL, OVERHAUL & INSTALLATION article. Retest system.
  2. Check for open DOME fuse No. 17 (15-amp) in instrument panel fuse block. Replace fuse and repair short as necessary. If fuse is okay, repair open in White wire between PCM and DOME fuse. See WIRING DIAGRAMS article. Retest system.
