Oil Pump: Inspection
- Disassemble oil pump. Inspect outer rotor, inner rotor and oil pump case for wear and damage. Using straightedge and feeler gauge, measure rotor end clearance. Check side clearance between rotor tooth and housing.
- Check clearance between pressure regulator valve and bore. Measure free length and tension of oil relief spring . Replace components or entire assembly if not within specification. See OIL PUMP SPECIFICATIONS table.
