DTC 18: Wheel Speed Sensor/Rotor Or Abs Actuator
- Remove all wheel speed sensors. Check for dirt or foreign material around speed sensor and rotor. Check for physical damage on sensor and rotor. Ensure wheel bearings are free of play. Repair/replace as necessary. If no problem is found, go to next step.
- Install speed sensors and tighten bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Ensure sensors mount flush with mounting surface. Replace any sensors with bent mounts. If sensors are okay, go to next step.
- Check each wheel speed sensor output. See FRONT WHEEL SPEED SENSOR or REAR WHEEL SPEED SENSOR under COMPONENT TESTS. Replace any faulty sensors. If sensors are okay, go to next step.
- Check ABS actuator operation. See ABS ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY under COMPONENT TESTS. Replace ABS actuator assembly if faulty. If ABS actuator assembly is okay, system is currently functioning correctly. Recheck for symptom and DTC.
