All Power Windows Inoperative

  1. Turn ignition on. Check system related fuses. See COMPONENT LOCATIONS  table. Replace fuses as necessary and check for short to ground. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Ensure battery voltage exists at both circuit breaker terminals. If voltage does not exist at either terminal, inspect and repair circuit as needed. If voltage exists at both circuit breaker terminals, go to next step.
  2. Remove master power window switch. Using voltmeter, ensure voltage exists at harness connector Blue wire (Esteem) or Blue/White wire (Grand Vitara and Vitara). If voltage does not exist, inspect and repair Blue wire or Blue/White wire circuit as needed. If voltage exists, go to next step.
  3. Using DVOM, check for continuity between master power window switch harness connector Black wire and vehicle ground. If continuity exists, replace master power window switch. If continuity does not exist, inspect and repair Black wire circuit as needed.
