DTC Confirmation Test

  1. Ensure intake air temperature is 6.8-158°F (-14-70°C), vehicle is at an altitude of 9150 feet or below, and barometric pressure is 74 kPa or more. Ensure DTCs P1450 and P1451 are not set. Turn ignition off, connect scan tool and turn ignition on. Clear DTCs. See MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LIGHT (MIL) RESET PROCEDURE under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM in SELF-DIAGNOSTICS - INTRODUCTION article.
  2. Start engine and allow it to reach normal operating temperature. Drive vehicle at speeds of 25 MPH for 1 second. Stop vehicle. Check for DTC P0451. See RETRIEVING DTCS under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM in SELF-DIAGNOSTICS - INTRODUCTION article.
