DTC Confirmation Test

  1. Ensure engine coolant temperature is 14-86°F (-10-30°C) when vehicle is first started, vehicle is at an altitude of 9150 feet or below, and barometric pressure is 74 kPa or more. Ensure DTCs P0101, P0102, P0103, P0112, P0113, P0116, P0117, P0118, and P0125 are not set. Turn ignition off, connect scan tool and turn ignition on. Clear DTCs.   2. Start engine and allow it to reach normal operating temperature. Drive vehicle at speeds of 35 MPH or more for 10 minutes. Stop vehicle and allow it to idle for one minute. Check for DTC P0111. See RETRIEVING DTCS under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM in SELF-DIAGNOSTICS - INTRODUCTION article.
