Component Tests and General Diagnostics

1. Turn ignition switch on and turn lighting switch off.
2. Cover the sensor lens with a hand and check headlights come on.
If headlights do not come on, go to step (4).




3. Light the sensor lens with a light and check headlights go out. If check result is OK, this system is OK.
If headlights do not go out, go to step (4).




4. Disconnect connector from Auto-on headlights controller with ignition switch OFF.
5. Check the voltage between terminals are as follows.

Terminal G34-6 and G34-1: 0 V
Terminal G34-6 and G34-4: 10 - 14 V
Terminal G34-6 and G34-5: 10 - 14 V

If check result is not satisfactory, repair and recheck.
If check result is OK, replace controller and recheck.
