Sir Diagnostic System Check
NOTE:
When measurements are requested, use J 3900 DMM with correct terminal adapter from J 35616-A Connector Test Adapter kit. When a wire, connector or terminal repair is requested, use J 38125-A Terminal Repair kit.
This check is always the first step in diagnosing SIR system faults. Its purpose is to verify that AIR BAG warning lamp is functioning properly, to read DTCs from SDM, to direct technician to proper diagnostic chart, and to verify that repairs have been performed properly and completely. To minimize diagnosis time, it is important to follow diagnostic charts accurately.
