DTC Will Set

When SDM detects a frontal crash of sufficient force to warrant deployment of air bags and a fault is present.

NOTE: Following step references refer to test step numbers on diagnostic chart. See Fig 1 . For circuit number and wire color identification, see WIRING DIAGRAMS .

1) This test checks if DTC concerning initiator circuit which is shorted to ignition is set when a deployment command was output.
2) If air bag(s) have not deployed, DTC B1051 may have set falsely.
3) If DTC B1053 has set with no signs of frontal impact, DTC has set falsely.
