DTC P0135: Ho2S No. 1 Heater Circuit Malfunction

  1. Start engine and let idle. Once engine is at normal operating temperature, turn off engine. Turn ignition on. Using a voltmeter, backprobe PCM 16-pin harness connector. Measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 7 (Pink/Black wire). Voltage should be greater than 10 volts. Start and run engine at idle. Measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 7 (Pink/Black wire). Voltage should be less than 1.9 volts. If voltages are not as specified, go to next step. If voltages are not as specified, check for an intermittent problem. See TESTS W/O CODES article.
  2. Turn ignition off. Disconnect HO2S No. 1 harness connector. Using an ohmmeter, measure resistance between Black/White wire and Pink/Black wire of HO2S No. 1 component connector. If resistance is 11.7-15.6 ohms at 68°F (20°C), go to next step. If resistance is not as specified, replace HO2S No. 1. Retest system.
  3. Check continuity of Pink/Black wire between HO2S No. 1 harness connector and terminal No. 7 on PCM 16-pin harness connector for open or short to ground. Repair as necessary. If wire is okay, replace PCM. Retest system.
