DTC 94: Brake Switch Contact Always Closed: Description
DTC sets if vehicle speed reaches at least 25 MPH, and stoplight switch was not open during 2 consecutive drive cycles.
- Turn ignition off. If brake lights are off, go to step 3). If brake lights are on, go to next step.
- Disconnect brake light switch. If brake lights are off, adjust or replace brake light switch. If brake lights are on, repair Green/White wire for short to voltage.
- Disconnect EBCM harness connectors. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 21 (Green/White wire) on EBCM 24-pin harness connector. If voltage is 2 volts or less, go to next step. If voltage is greater than 2 volts, repair Green/White wire for short to voltage.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Reconnect all harness connectors. Test drive vehicle for 2 drive cycles above 25 MPH. If DTC 94 reset, replace EBCM. If DTC 94 does not reset, system is currently functioning correctly. See DIAGNOSTIC AIDS .
