DTC P1410: Fuel Tank Pressure Control System Malfunction

  1. Using a DVOM, backprobe between PCM harness connector "B" terminal No. 26 (Green/Blue wire) and ground. Turn ignition on. Record reading. With DVOM still connected, start engine and record reading. With fuel level at 85 percent or higher, readings should be 10-14 volts with key on engine off, and 0-1 volt with engine running. If voltage reading was as specified, problem is intermittent or due to a faulty PCM. If voltage was not as specified, go to next step. 2). Turn ignition off. Disconnect fuel tank pressure control solenoid vacuum valve connector. Using a DVOM, measure resistance between the 2 terminals. If resistance is 28-36 ohms at 68°F (20°C), go to next step. If resistance is not as specified, replace fuel tank pressure control solenoid vacuum valve.
  2. Using a DVOM, measure resistance between each terminal of valve and valve body. If resistance is one megohm or higher, check Blue/Black and Green/Blue wires for opens or shorts. If wiring and connectors are good, replace PCM and retest system. If resistance is not as specified, replace fuel tank pressure control solenoid vacuum valve.
