Component Tests and General Diagnostics

MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LAMP (MIL) CHECK
1) Turn ON ignition switch (but the engine at stop) and check that MIL lights.
If MIL does not light up, go to "Diagnostic Flow Chart A-1" for troubleshooting. Refer to Computers and Control Systems/Testing and Inspection/Procedures/Non-Trouble Code Charts.

2) Start engine and check that MIL turns OFF
If MIL remains ON, and no DTC is stored in ECM, go to "Diagnostic Flow Chart A-2" for troubleshooting. Refer to Computers and Control Systems/Testing and Inspection/Procedures/Non-Trouble Code Charts.
