DTC P0335 CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR CIRCUIT MALFUNCTION

CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The CKP sensor located on the oil pan (front side) consists of the signal generator (pick-up coil and magnet) and signal rotor (on crankshaft timing belt pulley).
As the signal rotor (crankshaft) turns, AC voltage is generated in the pick-up coil. This pulse signal (6 pulses/revolution) is sent to ECM where it is used to calculate the variation of crankshaft speed (detect if misfire occur).
DETECTING CONDITION
DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE
NOTE: Check to make sure that following conditions are satisfied when using this DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE.
- Intake air temp.: -14°C, 6.8°F or higher.
- Atmospheric pressure (Altitude) :540 mmHg, 72 kPa or more (2790m, 9150 ft or less).
1) Connect scan tool to DLC with ignition switch OFF.
2) Turn ON ignition switch and clear DTC pending DTC and freeze frame data by using scan tool.
3) Start engine and run it for 10 sec.
4) Check DTC by using scan tool.
