P0111
DTC P0111 INTAKE AIR TEMP. (IAT) CIRCUIT RANGE/PERFORMANCE PROBLEMWIRING DIAGRAM
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
Located on the air cleaner, this sensor measures the temperature of the intake air and converts its change into that in resistance through the thermistor like the ECT sensor.
By monitoring the resistance of the IAT sensor, ECM detects the intake air temperature and use it as one of the signals to control fuel injectors and ignition timing.
DETECTING PROCEDURE
DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE
WARNING:
- When performing a road test, select a place where there is no traffic or possibility of a traffic accident and be very careful during testing to avoid occurence of an accident.
- Road test should be carried out with 2 persons, a driver and a tester, on a level road.
1) Correct scan tool to DLC with ignition switch OFF.
2) Turn ON ignition switch and clear DTC, pending DTC and freeze frame data in ECM memory by sing scan tool and start engine.
3) Check vehicle and environmental condition for:
- Engine coolant temp. at engine start: Between -10°C and 30°C (14°F and 85°F)
- Barometric pressure (Altitude): 540 mm Hg, 72 kPa or more (2790 mm, 9150 ft or less)
4) Warm up engine to normal operating temperature
5) Drive vehicle above 25 mph (40 km/h) for 15 min. or more
6) Stop vehicle with engine running at idle for 1 min. or more
7) Check pending DTC and DTC.
