Scan Tool Method

  1. Using a Tech-1 or other OBD-II compatible scan tool, interface PCM by connecting to OBD-II 16-pin DLC, located under instrument panel to left of steering column. Retrieve DTC following scan tool manufacturer's instructions.
  2. If a DTC is present, identify DTC and diagnose accordingly. See DTC IDENTIFICATION  table, then proceed to DIAGNOSTIC TESTING  . After repairs are made, clear DTC. See CLEARING TROUBLE CODES  . Test drive vehicle and ensure OD/OFF indicator or MIL does not illuminate.
