DTC P1510: Pcm Backup Power Supply Malfunction

  1. Turn ignition on. On models with manual transmission, measure voltage (backprobe) between ground and PCM harness connector "A" terminal No. 14 (White wire). On models with automatic transmission and/or EVAP-II, measure voltage (backprobe) between ground and PCM harness connector "A" terminal No. 13 (White wire). Reading should be 10-14 volts. If voltage is as specified, check for poor connections at PCM. If connections are okay, replace PCM. If voltage is not as specified, check for blown TAIL fuse (15-amp) or blown MAIN fuse (60-amp). If fuses are okay, go to next step. If fuses are blown, check for short circuit and repair as necessary. Retest system.
  2. Check for open in White wire between PCM and fuse box. Check for open in White/Yellow wire between fuse box in passenger compartment and relay/fuse box in engine compartment. Repair as necessary. If wires are okay, check for an intermittent problem. See TESTS W/O CODES article.
