DTC P1510: Pcm Backup Power Supply Malfunction

  1. Turn ignition on. On models equipped with 3-speed automatic or manual transmission, measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 1 (White wire) at 22-pin PCM harness connector. On models equipped with 4-speed automatic transmission, measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 4 (White wire) at 26-pin PCM harness connector. If voltage is 10-14 volts, check for poor PCM harness connections. If connections are okay, replace PCM. If voltage is not as specified, check condition of TAIL fuse (15-amp) and MAIN fuses (30-amp and 80-amp). If fuses are okay, go to next step. If fuses are blown, check for short circuit and repair as necessary. Retest system.
  2. Check for an open in White wire between PCM and fuse box. Check for open in White/Yellow wire between fuse box in passenger compartment and relay/fuse box in engine compartment. Repair as necessary. If wires are okay, check for an intermittent problem. See TESTS W/O CODES article.
