Sidekick & X90 (Combination Meter VSS)

  1. Remove instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Using ohmmeter, check continuity between combination meter connector G11, terminals No. 4 and 10 while rotating speedometer cable shaft clockwise with a screwdriver. See Figure .
  2. Ohmmeter reading should fluctuate between continuity and no continuity 4 times per revolution of speedometer cable shaft. If ohmmeter reading does not fluctuate as specified, replace speedometer.
