Oil Pressure Light Test

  1. Disconnect oil pressure sending unit harness connector. Using a jumper wire, ground Yellow/Red (Esteem) or Yellow/Black wire (Sidekick, Swift and X90) at harness connector. Turn ignition switch to RUN position and check oil pressure light. If oil pressure light illuminates, go to next step. If oil light does not illuminate, check fuses, wiring harness, bulb and instrument panel circuit board. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
  2. Remove jumper wire and recheck oil light. If light goes out, check oil pressure sending unit. See OIL PRESSURE SENDING UNIT TEST. If light is still illuminated, repair short to ground in Yellow/Red or Yellow/Black wire.
