Cruise Control Systems: Description

WARNING: Deactivate air bag system before performing any service operation. See appropriate AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article. DO NOT apply electrical power to any component on steering column without first deactivating air bag system. Air bag may deploy.

NOTE: Cruise Control Electronic Control Unit (CC ECU) may also be referred to as cruise control module.

Cruise control system consists of Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS), brakelight switch, Cruise Control Electronic Control Unit (CC ECU)/actuator, cruise control main switch, clutch pedal switch (M/T), transmission range switch (A/T), SET/COAST switch, ACCEL/RESUME switch and CANCEL switch. See Figure .
