BRAKELIGHT Switch Tests
- Disconnect brakelight switch harness connector, located near top of brake pedal. See Figure
. Remove brakelight switch from mounting bracket.
- Check continuity between terminals No. 1 and 3 at brakelight switch. See Fig 1
. Continuity should exist with plunger on brake switch fully outward and continuity should no exist with plunger fully depressed.
- Check continuity between terminals No. 2 and 4 on brakelight switch. Continuity should not exist with plunger on brake switch fully outward and continuity should exist with plunger fully depressed. If continuity is not as specified, replace brakelight switch.
- Install brakelight switch. Adjust brakelight switch. See BRAKELIGHT SWITCH ADJUSTMENT
under ADJUSTMENTS.
