DTC P0741: Torque Converter Clutch (TCC) Circuit Performance: Testing
- Turn ignition on. Clear DTC. See CLEARING TROUBLE CODES under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. Start engine and allow it to reach normal operating temperature. Road test vehicle and check for correct upshift speeds and TCC operation. See ROAD TEST under TESTING in overhaul article. After road test, recheck for DTC. If DTC P0741 resets, go to next step. If DTC P0741 does not reset, fault is not present at this time.
- Inspect TCC solenoid valve operation. See SHIFT SOLENOIDS & TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH (TCC) SOLENOID under COMPONENT TESTING. Replace if necessary. If TCC solenoid tests okay, go to next step.
- Inspect valve body condition. Check for leaks or obstructions in fluid passages. Overhaul if necessary. See VALVE BODY ASSEMBLY under COMPONENT DISASSEMBLY & REASSEMBLY in overhaul article. If valve body and fluid passages are okay, replace torque converter.
