Throttle Position (TP) Sensor (Sidekick 1.8L)

Start engine and allow it to reach normal operating temperature. Turn engine off, leaving ignition on. On models with manual transmission, backprobe PCM 26-pin connector. Measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 17 (Green wire). On models with automatic transmission, measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 25 (Green wire) on PCM 28-pin connector. See THROTTLE POSITION (TP) SENSOR VOLTAGE  table. Ensure voltage reading changes with changes in throttle position. If voltage is not as specified, attempt to adjust TP sensor. If correct voltage cannot be obtained, replace TP sensor. Retest system.
