EVAP Diagnostic Valve (Sidekick 1.8L)

  1. Disconnect diagnostic valve harness connector. Using ohmmeter, measure resistance between component terminals. Resistance should be 19-24 at 68°F (20°C). If resistance is as specified, go to next step. If resistance is not as specified, replace EVAP diagnostic valve. Retest system.
  2. Disconnect vacuum hose from 3-way joint. Blow into hose. Air should not flow through valve. Using fused jumper wires, connect 12 volts to valve terminals. Air should flow through valve. If operation is not as specified, replace EVAP diagnostic valve.
