Brake Warning Indicator Test

BRAKE warning light will illuminate when ignition switch is turned to RUN or START position, when parking brake is engaged and ignition is on or when fluid level in brake master cylinder reservoir is below minimum level and ignition switch is in RUN position.

Brake proportioning and differential pressure switch, on Sidekick and X90, will turn BRAKE warning light on if brakeline pressures are different between front and rear. Light will go out when engine is started. If light does not go out, check brake fluid level, brake fluid level switch, parking brake switch, proportioning and differential pressure switch.
