DTC P0117: Engine Coolant Temp. (ECT) Sensor CKT Low Input
- Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Turn ignition on. Select ECT sensor parameter on scan tool. If display reads greater than 336°F (168°C), go to next step. If display reading is 176-212°F (80-100°C), check for an intermittent problem. See TESTS W/O CODES article.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect ECT sensor harness connector. If display reading drops to -40°F (-40°C), replace ECT. If display reading is not as specified, check Red/Yellow wire for short to Gray wire (Gray wire changes to Gray/Yellow) or ground. If wire is okay, replace PCM. Retest system.
