Vehicle Speed Sensor Circuit Check
- Ensure ignition is off. Disconnect Cruise Control Electronic Control Unit (CC ECU) harness connector. Raise and support vehicle. Check continuity between CC ECU terminal No. 1 (Violet wire on Esteem; Yellow or Black/Yellow wire on Sidekick 1.8L and X90) and ground.
- Rotate left front tire (Esteem) or left rear tire (Sidekick 1.8L and X90) with opposite tire blocked. Ohmmeter should fluctuate between continuity and no continuity a few times during one full revolution. If continuity is not as specified, check vehicle speed sensor. See VEHICLE SPEED SENSOR TEST under COMPONENT TESTS. If VSS is okay, check for open or short in Violet, Yellow or Black/Yellow wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
