Idle Speed/Throttle Actuator - Electronic: Service and Repair

Removal
1) Disconnect battery negative cable at battery.
2) Remove throttle cover.

3) Disconnect air hose from IAC valve.
4) Disconnect IAC valve coupler.
5) Remove radiator cap to relieve engine coolant pressure and reinstall it.

WARNING:
To help avoid danger of being burned, do not remove radiator cap while engine and radiator are still hot. Scalding fluid and steam can be blown out under pressure if cap is taken off too soon.

6) Disconnect cooling water hoses from IAC valve.

NOTE:
Coolant, although small amount, may be released then. Cover hose-to-pipe joint with shop cloth so that released coolant is absorbed in it.

7) Remove IAC valve from surge tank (intake manifold).

Installation
For installation, reverse removal procedure and note following precautions.
- Use new gasket.

- Tighten IAC valve bolts.
