DTC P1530: Ignition Timing Adjustment Switch CKT Malfunction
- Ensure test switch terminal of test connector (located in underhood relay/fuse block) is not grounded by a jumper wire. See Fig 1
. If test switch terminal is grounded, remove jumper wire and retest system. If test switch terminal is not grounded, go to next step.
- Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between test connector terminals No. 4 (ground) and No. 5 (test switch terminal). If reading is 10-14 volts, problem is intermittent or due to a faulty PCM. See TESTS W/O CODES article. If reading is not 10-14 volts, check Violet/White wire for short to ground. If wire is okay, replace PCM.
