DTC 63: Right Front Motor Circuit Shorted To Battery: Description
EBCM detects out of range voltage on either right front motor circuit (indicating a circuit shorted to battery or motor shorted).
- If DTC 63 occurs intermittently, seDIAGNOSTIC AIDS . If DTC is currently set, turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect 6-pin harness connector from motor pack on ABS actuator. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 2 (Brown wire) on motor pack harness connector. If voltage is one volt or less, go to next step. If voltage is greater than one volt, repair Brown wire for short to voltage.
- Measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 1 (Brown/Black wire) on motor pack harness connector. If voltage is one volt or less, go to next step. If voltage is greater than one volt, repair Brown/Black wire for short to voltage.
- Turn ignition to LOCK position. Measure resistance between terminals No. 1 (Brown/Black wire) and 2 (Brown wire) on motor pack connector. If resistance is greater than .4 ohms, replace EBCM. If resistance is .4 ohms or less, replace motor pack.
