DTC 56: Left Front Motor Circuit Open: Description

EBCM detects out of range voltage on either left front motor circuit (indicating an open circuit).

1. If DTC 56 occurs intermittently, seDIAGNOSTIC AIDS . If DTC is currently set, turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect 6-pin harness connector from motor pack on ABS actuator. Measure resistance between terminals No. 5 (Light Green/Black wire) and 6 (Light Green wire) on motor pack connector. If resistance is less than 2000 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 2000 ohms or greater, replace motor pack.
2. Disconnect EBCM harness connectors. Measure resistance of Light Green wire between terminal No. 6 on motor pack harness connector and terminal No. 2 on EBCM 8-pin harness connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair Light Green wire.
3. Measure resistance of Light Green/Black wire between terminal No. 5 on motor pack harness connector and terminal No. 1 on EBCM 8-pin harness connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace EBCM. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair Light Green/Black wire.
