DTC P1530: Ignition Timing Adjustment Switch CKT Malfunction

  1. Locate test connector next to coolant recovery bottle. Ensure test connector terminals are not grounded or jumpered. Repair as necessary. If test connector is okay, go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition on. On models with manual transmission, measure voltage (backprobe) between PCM harness connector "A", terminal No. 5 (Blue/Red wire) and ground. On models with automatic transmission, measure voltage (backprobe) between PCM harness connector "A", terminal No. 16 (Blue/Red wire) and ground. If voltage is 10-14 volts, replace PCM. If voltage is not as specified, repair Blue/Red wire for short to ground. Retest system.
