DTC P0300: Random Misfire
- Check ignition spark and spark plug at cylinder misfiring. Repair as necessary. If a strong Blue spark is present at ignition wire and spark plug is okay, go to next step.
- Using a mechanic's stethoscope, check each fuel injector for a clicking sound while cranking engine. If sound is not heard from all 4 injectors, go to next step. If sound is heard from all 4 injectors, go to step 4).
- Check fuel injector harness and connections. Using a fuel injector tester (noid-light), check injector control signal at each harness connector. Repair as necessary. Retest system.
- Check ignition timing. See ADJUSTMENTS - 1.6L article. Adjust if necessary. Retest system. If ignition timing is okay, check EGR system for proper operation following procedures in DTC P0400 . Repair as necessary. If EGR operation is okay, check engine mechanical condition. See appropriate article in the ENGINES section.
