On-Vehicle Testing

  1. Connect manifold gauge set to compressor. Open all vehicle doors. Run engine at 1500 RPM, A/C at MAX COLD position, blower set on high speed, and fresh air control lever set in recirculation position. Ensure low pressure gauge shows a reading of 21.3-35.5 psi (1.5-2.5 kg/cm2 ).
  2. If reading is less than 21.3 psi (1.5 kg/cm2 ), check expansion valve and receiver-drier. Replace components as necessary. If reading is greater than 35.5 psi (2.5 kg/cm2 ), tighten remote bulb holder or replace expansion valve.
