Line Pressure Test: Notes
NOTE:
Hydraulic pressure test should be performed with ATF temperature at normal operating temperature of 158-176°F (70-80°C).
- Ensure ATF is at normal operating temperature. Check ATF level and add if necessary. Remove right-side engine undercover. Connect an appropriate pressure gauge to line pressure test port on transaxle. See Figure .
- Apply parking brake and block all 4 wheels. Connect tachometer to vehicle and ensure it is visible to technician. Start engine and ensure idle speed RPM is adjusted to specification.CAUTION: DO NOT maintain stall speed RPM for more than 5 seconds. Ensure at least a one minute pause is taken at idle between tests.
- Apply service brake and shift transmission to "D" position. Check line pressure at idle and record line pressure reading. Accelerate vehicle to stall speed and record line pressure reading. Repeat test procedure in "R" position. Compare all readings to specification. See LINE PRESSURE SPECIFICATIONS table.
