O/D Off Indicator Flashes

  1. Retrieve DTC using "Flash Code" method. See FLASH CODE METHOD  under RETRIEVING TROUBLE CODES. If O/D OFF indicator indicates a DTC, perform a visual inspection. See PRELIMINARY CHECK . If O/D OFF indicator does not indicate a DTC, go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition off. Remove jumper wire from diagnostic connector. Turn ignition on. Using a DVOM, measure voltage between ground and diagnostic switch terminal (Green/Red wire) at diagnostic connector No. 2. See Figure. If reading is 4-6 volts, go to next step. If reading is not as specified, repair Green/Red wire for a short to ground. Retest system.
  3. Check TCM ground circuit. See step  2 in TCM POWER & GROUND CIRCUIT  under TCM CIRCUIT CHECK. Repair as necessary. If ground circuit is okay, substitute TCM with a known-good unit. Retest system.
