DTC P0743: TCC Solenoid Circuit Fault: Testing

  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect TCM harness connectors. Turn ignition on. Using a DVOM, measure voltage between ground and TCM harness connector E26, terminal No. 24 (Green/Yellow wire). If reading is about zero volts, go to next step. If reading is not as specified, repair Green/Yellow wire for a short to power.
  2. Turn ignition off. Using a DVOM, measure resistance between ground and TCM harness connector E26, terminal No. 24 (Green/Yellow wire). If resistance is 11-15 ohms at 68°F (20°C), check for an intermittent problem or faulty TCM. See DIAGNOSTIC AIDS . If resistance is not as specified, go to next step.
  3. Disconnect solenoid harness connector at transaxle. Using a DVOM, measure resistance between transaxle case and TCC solenoid harness connector terminal No. 3 (Green/Yellow wire). See Figure. If resistance is 11-15 ohms at 68°F (20°C), repair Green/Yellow wire for an open or short to ground. If resistance is not as specified, go to next step.
  4. Check TCC solenoid wires in transaxle for an open or short. Check TCC solenoid for proper installation. Repair as necessary. If no problems are found, replace TCC solenoid. Retest system.
