Park/Neutral Position Switch (A/T)

NOTE: Park/neutral position switch may also be referred to as transmission range switch.
  1. Apply parking brake. Disconnect electrical connector at park/neutral position switch, located on side of transmission. See Fig 1 .
  2. Note terminal identification on park/neutral position switch. See Fig 1 . Using ohmmeter, check for continuity between specified terminals with shift lever in specified positions. See PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH SPECIFICATIONS  table. If proper continuity does not exist, adjust or replace switch as necessary.

Lever Position Continuity Between Terminals
Park 2 & 3; 6 & 7
Reverse 6 & 8
Neutral 2 & 3; 6 & 10
Drive 6 & 9
2 4 & 6
Low 5 & 6
